Description
High precision colorimetric water analysis sytem with long lasting, stable glass coloured discs.
Colorimetric testing is a widely used method of water testing. A chemical reagent (eg. DPD tablet) is added to a known sample of water. The intensity of colour is then measured to determine the concentration of a particular chemical present in the water (eg. Chlorine). The concentration of the parameter can be determined with a colorimeter, either a Comparator & Disc (visual system) or a photometer (electronic / digital) system.
Different chemical substances absorb different and varying visual light frequencies. Since the absorption of a substance is proportional to its concentration, for example a more concentrated solution gives a higher absorbance reading, the concentration of a known solute can be measured using a colorimeter.
Since about 1865, the Lovibond® Comparator system has been used around the world for chemical analysis of water, dairy, beer, fruit juices, medical, etc. The Lovibond® Comparator System 2000+ is based on the original product developed by Joseph Lovibond over 120 years ago and the discs are high quality, fade-free, resistant to chemicals and scratch-proof.
It is an extremely versatile and precise colorimetric water testing system. It offers ease of use yet is uncompromising in terms of the precision and reproducibility of results. It is compact and portable, making it equally suitable for onsite and laboratory use. The integrated prism brings the glass standards of the test discs and the coloured sample into the same field of view.
An integrated yet flexible cell holder allows rapid adjustment to hold cells with path lengths from 140 mm.
Cells:
At our plant, we manufacture precision optical glass cells for use in colorimetry in line with the highest quality standards with path lengths of 1 40 mm. In combination with a lighting unit, these cells ensure high precision and reproducibility of results.
Test discs:
More than 400 different test discs are available for colorimetric water analysis. Every test disc is fitted with guaranteed colour-stable, non-fading glass filters.Lighting unit:
We recommend the use of a Lovibond® lighting unit in buildings due to the changing light conditions (daylight/artificial light). This guarantees uniform lighting conditions regardless of environment. Lovibond® lighting units areavailable as a battery operated unit for portable use and as the daylight lamp “2000” for use in the laboratory. Once you have the Comparator 2000+, you can buy extra discs and reagents to perform many different tests.Applications:
