The Tintometer Ltd is at the forefront of technical innovation for the colour measurement of liquids and solids.
The company was founded in 1885 by Joseph Lovibond, a prominent brewery owner who developed the “colorimeter” as a means of ensuring the quality of his beer.

We supply precision fused cuvettes or cells in a range of dimensions and path lengths, made from optical glass to the highest standards.
The range of Lovibond® colour reference standards includes AOCS-Tintometer®, ASTM, Gardener, Lovibond® RYBN, Pt-Co / Hazen / APHA and Saybolt Colour. Each standard with a 12-month guarantee of colour stability.
Reference liquid standards are assigned to a nominal value and Lovibond® endeavours to match this value as closely as possible. On occasion, it may not be possible to match the requested value exactly. The value achieved and the expected tolerances will, of course, be reported.
Conformance filter sets allow quick and simple conformance checks on Lovibond® instruments. Each filter is supplied with a Certificate of Conformity that confirms they have been manufactured under the control of our ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.
Conformance filters are assigned a nominal value and Lovibond® Tintometer endeavours to match this value as closely as possible. on occasion, because of the unique manner of the glass making process, it may not be possible to match the requested values exactly.
