The following quality indicators are measured through the modern, non-penetrative method of Near Infrared Analysis (NIR):

  • Total Soluble Solids (indicates the brix or sugar level)
  • Dry matter
  • Titratable acidity
  • Internal colour
  • External colour

How it works:

  • Place the Produce Quality Meter on the surface of the fruit you wish to test.
  • Particles of light are directed into the fruit and the electronic meter measures the light interaction with molecules to determine the quantity for key indicators
  • The scan takes 4 – 6 seconds and results in a digital read-out
